richard,

I will shameless catch your idea and implement it for UDT3.3.7.

You need to add the searchpattern to the ctlPagingControl.QuerystringParams.

not a problem. by passing the field generator the length i want i can make a dynamic search form and a query form for simple reports against the table. Now, mine allows me to save the querystring  with name to tabmod settings. this allows me to set a schedule for the report to automatically run. and send the result as an excell sheet to the customer. she is tickled pink with that. i have sorting, paging, and searching working. it's just on the call to dnn_postback. that it mangles the search. also, since i am sending queries back and forth. i added a simple encrypt/decrypt function to hide my fields from prying eyes. every little bit helps. if you can find out why it does that. i would greatly appreciate it. it is a java function in the js directory. in the root dnn namespace.

one thing. if you call settings(<settingID>) you don't need tabsettings or modsettings. cuts down a lot of calls to db on postback.

Is this issue related to the problem where it won't save the default sort order?

I keep setting it to sort by LastName, Ascending, and save the settings.  The table is still out of order, so I go back to that menu and see that the sort order is once again "not specified".

Export UDT and Import it again, renew your setting and it will work.

Same trick would be to delete all the entries inside the tables modulesettings AND tabmodulesettings  with the settingname UDT_SortField AND UDT_SortOrder and the current moduleid/tabmoduleid.

These entries will be cleaned up during the installation of upcoming UDT3.3.7

Remeber: Always do a backup before manipulating data inside sql server directly!
