no, this project is not abandoned, though it is a bit neglected. Hans-Peter has not been able to contribute for some time due to personal reasons. In the interim, I've tried to monitor these forums and also occasionally check in code changes (and have been helped by Vicenc who's also fixed some issues and added functionality), but have not had the spare time recently to keep up with this as well as other commitments. I will be discussing this situation with Scott (who now heads up the projects area) to see the best way to resolve this. In the short term I still intend to release an update that contains the fixes and new code we've checked in in the past few months.

It is great to see such a timely reply from you. Thank you very much for that. I can only imagine how busy all of the core team and project team members are. It gets frustrating from time to time, and although I may make comments about the lack of support or documentation, I completely understand why.
It would be nice to know if you know of a current road map of the blog module. Are there plans to allow the administrators to completely manage the entire blog module and the number of blogs it contains? I realize that due to the situation at hand, you may not know the answer to this question.
[EDIT]
The answer will directly affect whether I will look for an alternative module, or create my own.

On a separate note, an open source initiative of this size should really make a better effort to keep a project team lead position filled. We all have personal issues to deal with, whether they are health related, family related, etc. Unfortunately, we will never be without them. However, even if the team lead position needs to be reassigned for a temporary basis so that any personal problems can be resolved, all DNN projects need to retain a full level of support.
That was just my two cents. Take it for what it is and even ignore it if you'd like. :) I am not trying to offend anyone. I hope all is well with HP. I mean no ill will and wish hardship on no one.
