Everything seemed to go fine.. but in trying to log in as host, un host pw dnnhost... nothing happens but the same view of the intro page.. anbody out there?

Actually, no log in works... I can register a user, but logging in takes me nowhere. Same for admin. HELP!

In DNN 3x the logins are:

host,    host

admin,  admin

 

because you logged too many times DNN locks everyone out for a specified time for security reasons and that also inclues the admin and host.  You can go directly in your database and modify a few things in SQL Server.  Go into the aspnet_memberships table and make sure IsLocked = 0 for all accounts.

Thanks for the response!  Well.. I wish it were that easy... I did go in and check the ASPmembership table and all looks fine.. I think I have some funky permissions thing going on.. using a Plesk control panel and it isn't behaving consistently. At any rate.. I did yet another install of a fresh database and a virtual directory and instance of dnn 3.3.5 and got the same result.. careful to use the latest 'install" download from DNN site.

Anything else you can think of?

By the way, they changed the default user pawwords with dnn 3.3.5 to "dnnadmin" and "dnnhost "

Host Login:

Username: host
Password: dnnhost

* Select the Host tab to manage multiple portals as the Host. Make sure you change the default password and specify a valid Email address for this account.
