Yip, I meant more from a usability/"30% of internet users won't bother after the error" point of view for better success...

Thanks Rodney, but I think it's usual that users have to register in order to download modules. Besides, everywhere is noted "Registration required" or "Please register in order to download module".

Cheers!

Ok! It was just that I literally clicked on the link that you gave on this top post, and then clicked on the link that I saw first, thinking it would take me to the log in page and it errored. Being tenancious I prevailed, but others might not - don't get me wrong - I am not saying change the fact that you need to register; but don't show error messages like that to the user - or at least make them friendly-looking and in the style of your site.

Anyway - just MHO on usability and the way users browse websites - no body EVER tells me about errors on Smart-Thinker.com until I find them - I wish they would  ;)

ps - one thing I do in this sort of scenario when you want to give the user a tease but they have to register is to have an HTML module with a clickable image that takes them to the log in page for unauthenticated users only, and then the link that you show is shown for Register users only - see this page for an example.. again - just my 2 cents on UI design...
