Each time I try to install i get this, I'm under Windows server 2003 and Sql Express 2005.

this looks like a timeout issue, that can happen with slow servers. I recommend to remove the largest modules after unpacking the install package and before hitting the site. Large modules are:

  • blog
  • forum
  • store
  • repository

Install those modules separately afterwards

Liz,

either via UI:

  • Log in as host
  • go to Module Definitions in host menu
  • choose upload module
  • browse for module package
  • upload

or

  • place all modules packages inside /install/module folder
  • call /install/install.aspx?mode=installResources
