Hi guys,

DNN is an awesome CMS! Hats-off to the developers and contributors!

For one of my projects, which is a vertical market community for vendors/service providers, I'm looking for a simple solution to build a directory with a member pages feature. Is there a way in DNN to have the following:

1. Directory/catalog of service providers (much like a Yellow Pages with alphabetical or location-wise listing)

2. When a service provider listing is clicked from the directory it links to the service providers web page. This web page should also be a part of the CMS. Service providers can create their own min-websites (1-3 page web sites) after they register. The member pages/site will be automatically alias-based (i.e. www.mydomain.com/membername). The member pages/site will be based on a standard template (same structure for all members). On these web pages the service providers (who will then be authors/editors as well) will be able to upload text content (through custom form fields) and images (of their products). Much like an enhanced classifieds system.

Please suggest some ideas which aligns better with my requirements.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Victor. The best and only directory module I have found other than the repository is www.IBuySpySolutions.com 's Business Directory. It is great, I have it loaded on my website, www.WisWeddingPlanner.com (click on the local businesses tab) if you would like to check it out.

As for the personal pages, you could use www.BizModules.com 's personal gallery which lets users create their own pages, they just have to apply for a personal page first. Or there is www.smart-thinker.com 's personal page module.

Let me know your progress, I would like to see your site when it is finished, or how you are going to tie things together to get what you are looking for.

This can easily be accomplished using XMOD (DNNDev) or H2O (Onyaktech). I have used both and both work wonders.

The solution you need for this is Onyak Portal Signup from Onyaktech. I am about to use this for a school board that has several "schools" as child portals where the content can be edited by a rep from each individual school within the board of ed.

Hope this helps.
