Hi James,

First of all thumbs up for fixing this module ... great work !

Unfortunately I am not able to get your version installed properly ...

I am running a DNN 04.03.05

(1) First I tried to install the module via the module tools but I got a permission error when he tried to install the 'config.vb' file ... I am not this is due to my hosting provider ...

System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException: An error occurred loading a configuration file: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. (machine.config) ---> System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. at System.Security.CodeAccessSecurityEngine.Check(Object demand, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean isPermSet) at System.Security.CodeAccessPermission.Demand() at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share) at System.Configuration.Internal.InternalConfigHost.StaticOpenStreamForRead(String streamName) at System.Configuration.Internal.InternalConfigHost.System.Configuration.Internal.IInternalConfigHost.OpenStreamForRead(String streamName, Boolean assertPermissions) at System.Configuration.Internal.InternalConfigHost.System.Configuration.Internal.IInternalConfigHost.OpenStreamForRead(String streamName) at System.Configuration.Internal.DelegatingConfigHost.OpenStreamForRead(String streamName) at System.Configuration.UpdateConfigHost.OpenStreamForRead(String streamName) at System.Configuration.BaseConfigurationRecord.InitConfigFromFile() The action that failed was: Demand The type of the first permission that failed was: System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer --- End of inner exception stack trace

I can reinstallt the previous version or install other modules without any issue ...

(2) I did a manual install and copied the files myself ... Then I got an execption during compilation

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: ...Gallery\Controls\ControlPager.ascx(10): error BC30002: Type 'PagerDetail' is not defined.

I am unable to find this class anywhere in your code ( the references are there ofc ... )

(3) What about the existing gallery dll 's ?  Are those still required ?

Thanks,

Steven

You do not need the old gallery dll files anymore.  (they need to be removed to run the new version). As for the permisisons, you need to make sure you copy over the files in the app_code directory. It sounds like with the auto install you don't have write access to that directory.   Also make sure that you unzip the resources.zip file into the directory.

Hi James,

Thanks for your fast reponse ...

Yeah I unzipped the resource zip, udpated the bin directory, removed the dll's etc before trying it but hence it did not work ...

Anyways, yesterday I upgraded my test portal ( on same host ) to the latest version and tried to install the gallery there and that went without any issues ... So I am gonna first upgrade my live one and then try to reinstall it again ...

Regards,

Steven

Hi James,

I upgraded the portal towards the lastest version and installed the new gallery version and that went smoothly and it runs fine now ...

I noticed though that I receive 2 exceptions every time the DNN application is restarted and they are both concerning the DLL's ... Any idea on how to get ridd of those events ?
