Ok,  I am going to try this in a different direction since no one answered my first query.

I get a clean install of 4.3.5 on Windows 2000 pro.  I can use the portal and have all the functionality when I first go into the new portal.   As soon as I close down Visual Studio 2005 and try to bring it up again and rebuild I get the error that " this page is not availabe "   and at the bottom it says "Cannot find server or DNS Error".   I can see the ASP Server on the bar and it is up an running but I get the error anyway even though I am pointed at the correct port.

What do I need to check to get to connect to this portal a second time ?  Please help before I damage my computer by throwing it across the room.

Nevermind !

This ended up being a Permissions / Security problem unrelated to DNN.
