I have a basic DNN install on my local pc and that works fine. I set up a virtual directory on my server then and published website (in Visual Studios 2005) to that Virtual directory. I get page cannot be found. Can you please help me out what I need to do to get this basic dnn install working over on my server?

Thanks, Jonathan

I'm seeing the same thing.  Followed all the instructions but get page not found when attempting to view default.aspx  I can however view the .htm files in the directory.  I assume it's a bad IIS setting but have no clue which.

Without knowing more technical details of your site it's hard to say the issue.  Maybe you are trying to use your local sqlexpress database on the server?  I've never tried to use sqlexpress on server so canot say how viable that is., but maybe you need to add an appropriate portal alias into the portal alias table?

IMO, the best way to install on a server is to actually do an install with the install packages on the server itself.
