One website I build still use DNN 3.0.13, now customer ask to add some new fields to user profile when visiter click the "register" buttom, how can I implement it?

The added fields'd better store as a table because those fields will to be refered by other function.

In DNN 4.x, I think it can be solved by ASP.NET 2.0 Membership solution, but what is the solution for DNN 3.x, especially for DNN 3.0.13. I have read some docments about Membership, but still don't understand how DNN 3.x implment this part.

It is pretty easy to do with the newer profile system.  Is there a reason you can't upgrade your current site first?  I don't have experience doing it with earlier versions.

Many thanks for your reply!!

I have upgraded my DNN from 3.0.13 to DNN 4.3.5, it's really very easy to add new field by modifying the profile setting.

There is a new problem, in this DNN website, we need to display some information depending on user's profile content, such as, we input many shopping records of one user in a module, we want those records would be listed when we check user's profile(or some other place displayed with profile information). So how to get the custom profile field when I write a module? how to "join" the custom profile field with my module's database table(like join two talbe in SQL server)?

An example will be good for understanding.
