If I set up an instance of UDT with a numeric field to base sorting on, is there a simple way to allow the user to move rows up and down?  I mean in exactly the same way that the UDT settings panel allows the user to click on Up and Down arrows to change the order of the fields.

As far as I see there is no way - we would need specific code to support the action images, and IMO this is a more specific need than we currently want to support. If you need it, you can download the source code and add the functionality yourself.
