Mr MobileNow, I have updated the post where I describe the "problem" (is it really a problem...). I have restored the database and the files to the previous state, and I have redone the upgrade !
Now, I have the log message, which is the following:

Upgrading DotNetNuke
Current Assembly Version: 04.04.00
Current Database Version: 04.03.07

Upgrade Status Report
00:00:00.020 - Upgrading to Version: 4.4.0 Success
00:00:02.183 - Performing General Upgrades

Upgrade Complete

Quite short, isn't it ??? Where is the problem ???
Thanks for your help,

Déclic,

this short log is correct, if you use the upgrade package.

Interestingly enough I am getting the exact same problems and error message with a clean install of DNN 4.4.0 on a shared SQL Database.

I am trying to setup 2 DNN instances on one MS SQL database and it is working.

Any suggestions anyone.. Would be greatly appreciated.  Thank.

Here is the error message that I am getting by the way.=
