This will sound dumb but it's worth the question.

I'm developing in  a machine created only for developing the DNN Portals and latter I will put the created portal in the server so it can be published. I have the need to create more 4 portals that will use the same installation. They are all parent portals and as the main portal they are going to be created on the developer machine. Since they are using the same database it should be a problem if I send the portals at diferent times? My concern is to loose the main portal contents when I'm installing the others portals.

Did anyone had this experience. How did work out.

as long as you use different DNN installations and databases for each portal, there is no issue in developing them locally (using virtual directories in XP pro) and porting them each separately to their individual web sites on the production server.

The project have in its concept to use only one DNN instalation and only one SQL Server Database and that is the main concern. How to put several portals using the same database and the same DNN instalation without overwriting the existing database content and without working directly into the server.

If you have any ideas I would like to  discuss...
