1st - The sitemap isn't going to mess up google's spidering of the website. Sitemaps are only worthwhile if there is a page that the spiders just aren't finding for some reason or another. We could get rid of the sitemap and it wouldn't change our problem.
2nd - I'm not sure why this thread with a legitimate question unraveled into developers getting defensive and mocking those coming here to seek help. Harjit wasn't demanding it be fixed right now. He asked a question, and the only answer he got was an earful of whining.
Of course people know dotnetnuke is free, and you get what you pay for. These forums were created to provide feedback, and people are giving it to you. Hargit and I came here because we want to make the product better.
For example, my company has 1,500 branches around the world and is trying to push dotnetnuke as the wave of their future for web development for clients. I'm not so sure it's ready for such extensive use from our tests, but Iwanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and check the pulse of the community to see where it is going.
Internet Marketing is a core part of our value offering. If the CMS is going to mess up our clients' search results after we build the site, then the CMS is useless. If dotnetnuke developers do not understand or care about the concepts of search engine optimization, then people beyond a certain level of understanding of search technology won't use it and the CMS will become another "also-ran."
