I just did a fresh install of DNN 4.4 for the second time with a new database and I am still getting the same web postback error when I try to update site settings and do other things.  I've disabled the compression settings.  Is DNN 4.4 really ready for prime time?  What's going on here?  I've seen others with this problem also.  Surely it should work 'out of the box'

Same problem, no solution. After several days without solution I decide to install older version and then upgrade to 4.4 (in progress right now), because upgraded installations working fine, just new installations making mentioned problem.

P.S.
I didn't see this post earlyer, so you can also follow thread in; http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/95918/scope/posts/Default.aspx

4.4.0 may still be a beta version.
