aha.. that looks straightforward to me!

Ok, done...

I noticed a stack of "Thread being aborted" errors in there before I did it. I get a lot of those as well. By the way, does your site run without errors or do you also get a lot of red in the event log? I've always had all sorts of errors in there and have long been trying to find out if this is normal behaviour for DNN or not.

I'll let it run for a bit and see what happens.

Thanks for the advice

Rob

If you still get those errors we need to find out why the thread gets aborted. It could mean that the app is recycled more than you want. I hardly have any errors in 4.4.0.

Robax,

I am interested in your thread, and I have checked my recent website with DNN 4.3.7
I have NO Scheduler Exception on my prod website, and 3 on my test website.

Concerning event failure, I did not find them in the drop down list. What do you call event failure ? Is it listed in your drop down list ??

I've had no errors appear since I did this last night (apart from one that occured when I enabled compression to check if that had decided to start working, but that's in another thread).

The  log is now mainly just application startups and shutdowns.

It's just been hard trying to find out what is normal and what isn't, so thanks for the pointers Marriette. I'll sit tight and report back what happens with the log in the next 24 hours.

Hi DV,

I also have a fresh 4.40 that I installed the day it came out just to look it over. That one does have some errors, but not enough entries to make a judgement yet. I'll keep it installed and running so that I can compare it with my main site.

The Event Failure is the dark red item that often appears after a string of bright red exceptions, and is then usually followed by one more exception. That seems to be the pattern regardless of the actual error contents.

I notice that on the colour coding list, it is labeled Operation Failure, which means it probably covers a wider range of events.

I've always had errors on any of the instances of DNN I've had installed and have posts about it going a long way back. Thanks to Mariette, this is the first time I've ever received a response on the subject that wasn't from someone else in the same boat.

I started looking into these errors again now that I have a fast account and am therefore more able to track down performance issues. This was impossible to do on my old shared account, because hundreds of other sites were continually killing the server.

Regards,
Rob
