I could not get the calendar to work because the hyperlink control is the child of a formview control. I have since figured it out. This worked.

Protected Sub FormView1_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles FormView1.Load
Dim hypurlcal As System.Web.UI.WebControls.HyperLink = FormView1.FindControl("cmdGetDate")
Dim txtWorkDay As System.Web.UI.WebControls.TextBox = FormView1.FindControl("WorkDayTextBox")

hypurlcal.NavigateUrl = CType(DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.Calendar.InvokePopupCal(txtWorkDay), String)

End Sub

That works well. I am stuck on two issues.

1) How to get the application to autopostback after the user selects a date and the textbox is updated

2) How to set the returned date to a customized format string

Thanks for any tips!

1) Since calc is using clientside code, you would need to make it postback by changing some code. A workaround is to postback when the textbox loses focus and check if the text property changed.

2) Use standard formatting in the Format control property. It is not my strength, but I think for a short date you use {0:d}.
