So  I have been able to get the AD Auth working flawlessly for some time now, and will be more than happy to share that if need be.  I am running DNN 4, Server 2008, and SQL Express.  Now my password just expired and being that i am the only admin on the site and have disabled the DNN authentication on the site.  I can no longer log in.  I need to know where in all the configuration files is the setting to enable the DNN authentication.  I have a host log in but the credentials supplied for AD access are now my old password.  My site is dead in the water until i can find this.  Please?!?

Thanks in advance,

Dino D'Innocenzo (m.dinnocenzo@gmail.com)

Dino, You don't mention whether you're using automatic login or manual login but it shouldn't matter. If you log in with your proper credentials manually it should automatically update the password. If you login automatically then it doesn't care what your password is (you're logged onto the computer you're using so it just verifies that the user is part of the domain and logs you in). You can also force an automatica login by going to http://yoursite/desktopmodules/authenticationservices/activedirectory/windowssignin.aspx. What's happening in your case? In version .05 a user's password will never be stored in the DNN database as a random password is generated even on manual login.

In any case, to get you back up an running if none of the above is getting you going, if you open the Authentication table in the database and verify the IsEnabled is true for the DNN authentication and the ModuleSettings table and make sure DNN_Enabled is set to True you should be able to manually login with your original Host password.
