you need to activate banners by altering site settings for banners to "portal".

Next choose "Vendors", add a vendor and add Vendor banners type "banner".

Use DotNetNuke online help or the existing books for further reference, there has been also a large discussion at forums.asp.net.

let me be more specific.....

I see the banner will change upon page refresh,, but is there any way to rotate through the banner while you are on the page? without creating 1 huge animated GIF.

Essentially, I want to rotate through several banners while the user is on the page...

Being exact and specific - this is not the same thing as ad serving- it's a banner that displays different images after page refreshing.

Have you tried the http://www.dnnstuff.com module rotation module.  Not sure if it's the pure answer you're looking for, but that's one approach.

Also, you could use a non dnn third party module and simply run as an iframe and deliver banners rotated on a time bases, rather than relying on page refresh.

But, just as I thought now - perhaps a module that does page refreshing.. I think there must be something around like that.. I've not looked.

There are several ways to skin the DNN cat - but sometimes the cat looks a bit ragged... so we learn to compromise a bit and find out how we can implement third party solutions into the equation.

Hope this gives a few more answers.
