I was able to get the install script to run and it reports all is good but when I go to log into the site I get a 404 error

http://www.robleethefishwhisperer.com/r/Home/tabid/36/ctl/Login/Default.aspx?returnurl=%2fr%2fDefault.aspx

It is looking for this file......but that directory tree does not exist in my Dot Net Nuke physical directory...??

Specifuically I do not have the /home dir??

Any clues?

What did I do wrong here??

Thanks in advance for your tiem..

Regards,

Mike

Mike,

I just followed that link and I was given an error page that shows you are running ASP.NET 1.1 but you are using a 4.x version of DNN.  If you change your ASP.NET version you should get farther along anyway.

Let us know if making that change doesn't get it fixed.

Thanks for your reply...it is sort of misleading that link as the real site is on another server ....I am just using the hosts file on my development machine ....which is Asp.net 2.0.....so you for sure would have seen 1.1 on my production machine as no 2.2 apps running there..

I will check to be sure I have it designated 2.0 for my install...and let you know where it takes me.

Thanks

Mike

Well I deleted the old install and database and did a clean install.......it installs fine and completes the process.....its just when I go to log in it references a directory  /Home that was never created during install.

What have I done wrong??

Mike

In your path you will see references to paths that do not exist, that is how the "Friendly URLs" function.  If you are getting a 404 error you will want to ensure that in the ASP.NET configuration in IIS that it is not set to validate pathnames.  (I can't remember exactly where this is set...)  Whcih version of windows are you doing this on?
