OK, I'm now able to access a default page, by navigating to http://localhost.

I deleted everything and started over, walking through the steps you provided in a previous post.  Now, navigating to http://localhost/dotnetnuke/default.aspx appears as if it will run, but I get errors from the web.config file where it tries to add assemblies for CrystalDecisions....  I assume this is because I have Crystal Reports XI on the development machine and no Crystal Reports versions are installed on the productions box.

Should I just comment out the CrystalDecisions portions and rerun?  I've tried that before, and still ended up with 403 or 404 errors.

Thanks again, for all your time!

Brad

That seems like a reasonable action.  What specific error are you getting from the web.config?

Yeah, that's definitely not being able to find CrystalDecisions on your machine, you won't be able to get too far without commenting that out.

I commented out those lines and reran it.I now have a 404 - page cannot be found.

I noticed that the URL changed from  http://localhost/virtualdirectoryname to http://localhost/physicaldirectoryname.

So, I'm back to square one with the 404 page.
