bogjacket,

I would suggest first making sure that anonymous access is enabled for that web site in IIS.  Also, make sure that the user account associated with anonymous access has file level permissions for that directory as well.

that should be a good first step to double check that, let me know what you find.

take care,

Ian

After a long hiatus, I'm back to my DNN situation.

The DNN install is on an XP pro machine on a Windows 2k3 network and a SQL 2000 db.   I'm now able to get to the app accross the network.  However, I run into a whole bevy of errors, mostly with the web.config file.

The app runs fine through VS 2005, but when I try to run it through IIS I get the following:

Configuration Error

Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level.  This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

Source Error:

Line 53: </system.codedom>
Line 54: <system.web>
Line 55: <machineKey validationKey="C798DEF705841A6DD2AE5FEAFE4BDC36EADBF358" decryptionKey="F601F65931A63D4D394CEBD891AF35BD771EC2D002E7444A" decryption="3DES" validation="SHA1" />
Line 56: <!-- HttpModules for Common Functionality -->

Source File: c:\inetpub\wwwroot\website\web.config    Line: 55

The virtual directory is configured as an application in IIS.
