Thanks John - I was receiving the same Parser Error message even though permissions for Network Services on Win 2003 had been set correctly.  I started over, first by unblocking the zip file before extracting the DNN files to the virtual directory.  That did the trick for me.

The issue still happens on DNN v4.9 and above...

Could you please post a serious answer that solves the problem? otherwise refrain from wasing our time.

So do you or do you not know hot to solve this?

I can confirm that using winrar to extract the files worked. Kind of interesting that a third party utility works better then the default os extracter.

I am getting the same problem using DNN5.1.4, MS VS 2008, C#.\

 I am writing code for an authentication / crate user/membership page and I am getting the same error page in development environment.

Do we have anyone who can provide any meaningful explanation and SOLUTION to this issue?

I use DNN 5.01.04 and I used to have the similar problem. I've solved it by installing new dnn and copying all its files except those which located in App_data to my Iproject. I've fixed this problem, but is it a good way? Can it cause other problems in future?
