What's up all,
  I am running 4.4.1...Yes I know I have to upgrade, but I can't do it right now...I have about 15 portal customers and I can't make the upgrade right now.

So, to my problem...I (and customers) are getting the:

"The process cannot access the file 'website\Portals\_default\Cache\R2V0SG9zdFNldHRpbmdz.resources' because it is being used by another process"

Error way to frequently!  I know that it has been fixed in the most recent version...

But I need to fix it on mine version ASAP.  Does any know the fix that went in to one of the upgrades that might have fixed this issue.

I don't mind going into the source and making the change...but I don't really have time to go and search through the code to fix it.

If not...I will have to push for the upgrade I guess.

I don't know the fix, but I've been told to avoid the built in caching and compression because it is so buggy.  You could try PageBlaster, I use the free version and it works great and works better/faster imo.  Not sure what the license issues are for business sites or multi portals, but it's worth checking in to as it's easy as heck to install and get working.  The paid version offers much more complex and in-depth control, but the free version works well for a quick and easy way to avoid the bugs in DNN version.... also, they have a built-in URL rewrite although I couldn't figure that out (over my head with the expressions/code).  Anyway, try PageBlaster and turn off DNN's caching and compression.  That's my advice, worked great for me.

Changing to caching in Memory will resolve that error.

Yeah, I thought the same thing...But after I did that (last week)...the cache errors were still getting logged and I was getting "OutOfMemory" exceptions ALL over the place.

So making it "memory" instead of "disk" made it worse.

Any other thoughts?  Otherwise I am just going to have to push for an upgrade.

Thanks Rick!  I think we are going to grab it.  I don't see any where I can buy an enterprise version.  So I assume that it is $60 for the module and that is it?
