Morning Folks...

I'm in the process of changing a module over to connect to a different database other than the primary DNN database, and I've encountered something which has me curious...

Using C#, I can simply pull the value of the connection string from the web.config file via:

string strConnection2;
strConnection2 = ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["NameOfTheConnectionString"];
Response.Write(strConnection2);

Yet, looking at some of the DNN code, they use this.

connectionString = DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.Config.GetConnectionString();

Now, I can't find the definition of said file right now (since what I'm working on isn't part of my DNN solution yet), but is there some specific reason why I should NOT use the C# code I showed above?

Thanks,
Brian

No that should work fine.
