I had the same issue (not able to delete user).  I had the en-US language pack and removed any and all tabs/spaces, still no luck.

So I went through the code and found that if the smtp information wasn't set up, it would never get to the actual delete user stored procedure.  long story short...it's now working :)

But what about deleting users without sending notifications?

It seems, as if this is not possible?

My first thought is why would you want to delete a user?

Since DNN is data driven, anything a user has contributed (meaning files, page edits and data created through events or tracking) is associated to their login/username.  Therefore, if you manage to delete a user that has any history associated with their login, you will run into some hefty database indexing problems.  A more appropriate way to handle this would be so set their account to inactive by unchecking Authorized on the user account edit screen.  Another option, which I have not tested might be to leave "Authorized" checked) and create a "Disabled" role and assign all "Unauthorized" users to it and remove all permissions from the Disabled role.  That way you have a separate assigned role for these accounts.  In the end, always retain all users because you never know when you might have to cough up some info on one of them.

hi rommie,

the problem is, that you can not delete users that not used the forum too.  genaral the delete users will not work in DNN 4.0.2 if you have installed the forum, and there are users in this.

I hope this will fix in the next release. or get a fix without compiling ( i can not do that) in next time.

regards

matthias

rommie,

i used the german language files in dnn 4.0.2 .  And there the unautorized users can not delete too !  That is the since i have users in the forum module.  And only aproved users have write permissions to the Forum.
