I installed dotnetnuke (04.08.04) today by running the visual studio template
- using sql server express;
- not using the Integrated Security;
I can see in the database that the users are created.
If I want to login, I'm redirected to the default.aspx, but nothing else happened.
If I used a wrong password, an errormessage is displayed.
If I used the right password, I'm again redirected to the default.aspx

What did I do wrong in the installation-proces

Just about every page in Dotnetnuke is rendered to the default.aspx page.   Can you give an example of the URL you are seeing as that will help us understand what pages you are being redirected to.

To identify whether login is working, you can login as administrator, so a control panel will be displayed on the top of the webpage. If you login in as normal user, the "Register | Login" text on the top left will chang to "Your username | Logout"

As Stuart said, you always under default.aspx because the special architecture of DNN.

In the right top i see Register  Login

So I'm not logged in, what I expected, but the application was succeeding to check the userid and password.

It looks like that the application could coneect to the database.
