They PDFs are being uploaded using FTP with Fetch. Can this have any affect? For some reason I think it's an issue outside of DNN. The web site is www.oceancitytoday.net if you would like to see the site first hand.

Unfortunately, I am also unable to reproduce this behavior in DNN v4.07.00 and v4.08.00 with Media v3.02.03.  I once again used a JPG image and linked it to a PDF on the same machine running the DNN website.

The first thing I can think of that might cause this behavior is the files being unaccessible for some reason at the time of the request.  Some of the things that come to mind are:

  1. The images are on an external drive that became inaccessible
  2. The server has a virus program that checks files in real-time (on open) causing sharing conflicts
  3. There is a URL rewrite utility or module that has a bug, rewriting the URL for the images

I do not believe that Fetch has anything to do this with this, but you do want to make sure that no Mac-specific files go onto the website, such as the .DS_Store files.

Are there any other environment variables that I do not know about yet that may be causing this?

Can you answer some of the same questions as the previous poster? Also, can you send a link to the exact page(s) that this is happening?  Your homepage looks fine so far with several refreshes.

 Hello Will,

I've deleted the module from the homepage and from the page 'Bigband'.

What is happening:

- I've uploaded the image to the filegallery. The file is vissible in the gallery.

- I've placed an Media Module on the page and I take the uploaded image from the gallery. It is vissible in the filemanager.

- After one or two days the images dissapaers from the module. If I look with the filemanager in the same direcory then there is no image. If I look with an program like FTP I'll see the image! Thus the filemanager don't let see the image, but it is there!

The only thing I could say about my installation: I've installed DNN in an subsite (other directory) and I've copied all the files to a the sitedirecory. Everything works fine, exceptly the media module.

My English is not the best, but I try.....

Thanks Cees

Hello Will,

This is the module version:

This module renders Media files. The module looks at the file extension and create the correct tag block to render the media in the browser. 03.02.03
