Hi everybody, please help.

I've used a script tag in my html skin page, this script contains a function that returns a dynamic url

<script type="javascript">

    var url = "";

    function get_url() {

    ...

    ...

    ...

        return url;

    }

</script>

Then I put in my html file the following : <a href=" get_url()" />

When I click to my link, nothing happen. I want to know what's wrong with this. Should I do something else ... ???

Thanx all, t's urgent.

To invoke a function in a href you need to prefix it with javascrip t:

So <a href="javascrip t:get_url()" />

This will simply invoke a function, not navigate you to the new location.   So I suggest inside your function you do a document.location.href = url;

Hi JON,

I followed your instructions but when i click in the link, nothing happen.

Where should I put my script? Should I put it in the <head> tag or in a separated file (link.js for example)?

Thank you

If you use jquery you cvan it as follows

give the link a special class  "mylink:

then on document ready call the following

$("a.mylink").click(function(){ geturl(); });

If you put it in the head, you need to enclose it within <s c r i p t> element.  You can also put it in a separate js, just make sure you reference it.
