I am getting a rredirect loop with 'domain1' but not 'domain2'?  Both are set up as aliases.  Just one portal: 01. 

I can get to the welcome.html page using the 'domain1' url.  Its when I try to go to the defualt.aspx page is when I have the redirect loop...

This is on godaddy.

Make sure your DNN portal aliases are setup correwctly. In other words, if you have already created domain aliases that resolve correctly, they also have to be added to the actual dnn portal.
