Technically I think this is a seperate issue then as this is specifically about the removal of existing code, might be the same symptoms just different steps to reproduce.

Please log as new bug anyway and this will clear up the confusion.

Thanks

Alex Shirley

Hi,

I encountered same problem with clean 5.0.0. install and then upgrade it to 5.0.1. I did also press in the 5.0.0 installation on the upgrade to 3.5. However, as far as I can see in my version system, the web.config is oke. I used the release.config in 5.0.0, but did not use the web.config in 5.0.1 since I did not notify important changes. However, my installation also bumped into the error. I checked with my version system what had been changed in the /bin folder. The System.Web.Extensions.dll had been added. Just removing that fixed my problem.

Step to reprodure are similar to those of Olivers post, except I did not use web.config of 5.0.1, but the 5.0.0 with upgrade to 3.5

J.
