This was first reported in February 2009. A fix was identified in March 2009 but the source code has not been updated since September 2008! This really is sad. All core modules should see at least an incramental improvement each year, not to mention basic bug fixes that are known!

Hi Phil
I think it is worth remembering that work on many core modules done by volunteers who gave and still give their time for nothing.  My perception is that many modules do get improved each year.
Since DNN got its funding there seems to be a more focussed effort to get many modules "fixed" or standards compliant but it all still takes time.

Mitchel: IMO, neither you nor or any other module coder needs to apologise for anything.

First, thanks to Michael for all of his excellent tips that really helped me last year.

I really needed the documents mod for clients, But I finally gave up on DNN a few months back due to so many problems and slow performance.

Mitchel, Thank you for the quick response. I appreciate all of the help you have given others and all of the work you do here. I hope you can get this fix into the main source tree quickly now. For me, this was just the "Straw that broke the camels back." Please don't take it personally. I do appreciate all of the time that the developers put into the project. The frustrating part is that I think the project as a whole has come to rely on third party, commercial developers, to provide core replacements. When we first evaluated DNN we knew there were some commercial products we would need to purchase and had no problem with that. But, over the year of using DNN, we have found that we have had to purchase the majority of modules we use because the core modules were not being given the love they needed. If anyone looks at the project downloads page, they will see that of the 64 modules, 12 have been updated this year and 20 were updated last year, but 26 have not been updated since 2008, and 6 have seen no changes since 2007. Granted that some [a majority?] of these probably don't need updates, but some such as the FAQ, feedback, links, news feeds, etc. either have outstanding issues or have room to grow. I love having the commercial options available for DNN, I just don't want to see the commercial options becoming de facto replacements for the core modules. This would ultimately drive developers and users away from adopting the platform.
