Okay, so in DNN. I have my smtp settings registered with my smpt server and user name and password, but when I try to send the test email I get the following error:

There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is: There is a problem with the configuration of your SMTP server. Mail was not sent.

I have the same settings in Outlook and I am able to send/recieve email fine. I currently am trying to use it with the basic authentication. But I've also tried anonymous, and selecting and deslecting to use SSL all to no avail. Are there some 'hidden' setting that I might need to fumble with in order to get this working?

Check your mail relay settings and your mail server logs if you've got access to it as well.

 I'm using DDN 5, btw. I don't see any setting to "requite authentication" for out going mail. Is that on, by default?
