 Hello Experts

Frankly speaking I am new to DNN module development. I am trying to develop a User Registration Module in which I am facing the following problem :-

The database (database.mdf) i am trying to connect in Visual Studio through Server Explorer has "ABC " owner(say).

And when I open my SQLSERVER 2005 express edition using Windows Authentication mode , it has a default user "XYZ" (say).

And when I run my application,  I am getting this error :

Cannot open user default database. Login failed.
Login failed for user 'XYZ'.

I have tried a lot to get rid of this error. But all in vain.

Any suggestions please to get out of this error. I will highly thankful.

Regards

Pritpal

You may be running into the issue described in the following Blog post, which although a few years old, is still very valid when one has connected to the embedded database.mdf file using a tool such as Server Management Studio then tries to later connect with DNN:

Firstly make sure your login details has the authority to open the current database and you have all the correct details.
Regarding with the owner, I believe you can add more than one owner to access to database, you just need to check the database properties and tick additional owner if required.
