After using the Upgrade package to move from 4.8 to the 5.01, I have an error that prevents access to any of the portals:

Compilation Error

Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30456: 'GetHtmlTextLog' is not a member of 'DotNetNuke.Modules.HTML.DataProvider'.

Source Error:

Line 57:         Public Function GetHtmlTextLog(ByVal ItemID As Integer) As ArrayList
Line 58:
Line 59:             Return CBO.FillCollection(DataProvider.Instance().GetHtmlTextLog(ItemID), GetType(HtmlTextLogInfo))
Line 60:
Line 61:         End Function

Source File: D:\DNN Install\App_Code\HTML\HtmlTextLogController.vb Line: 59

Can anyone suggest how clear this error and gain access to the site(s)?

I would suggest upgrading to 5.1.0 not 5.0.1.
If you are indeed upgrading to 5.1.0 please report this on support.dotnetnuke.com (just copy and paste your first post, and paste a URL to this post).

Thanks

Alex

Did you use a modified version of text/HTML module? (GetHtmlTextLog has never been a method in the module and there haven't been modifications on tText/HTML between 4.8.1 and 5.0.x)

Reinstall Text/HTML module version 4.8.1 and revalidate.

I have tried several workarounds without success. I restored the website from backup to the previous version 4.8 edition, but the error persists. I guess this means there is a record in the database with the editor info. I have been hoping I would not have to restore the database as I had just added a slew of new products, and then did the upgrade before another backup was done (my bad!).

I believe I am using the FckEditor add-in module (since I have no access to the DNN interface, I can't tell).

FCKEditor is integrated using a provider, but this is not connected to the error messsage above. There must be some custom Text/HTML module interfering. Make sure, there is no associated .dll file remaining in /bin folder, Text/HTML 4.8.1 is a dynamic module which uses code from /App_code/HTML sub folder (which has to be listed inside your web.config). I suggest to reinstall Text/HTML module frim /install/module folder of the upgrade package.
