of course, the stored procedures haven't been created with such a large number of forums in mind - you may want to use SQL Server profiler to get to know, if there is a stored procedure slowing down the display and may want to adjust it fitting your needs.

I would attempt an upgrade to the new 4.5.3 version because it does have many performance enhancements. However, this module is not designed for 2000 forums in a single view. Honestly, I can't think of a reason you would ever do this completely not useful. How useful is 2000 rows of information in front of you that you are not using for calculations? (I can't even imagine the page size of this). I mean, you don't even want to show 2000 records in a single datagrid.

All that said, I will be glad to discuss anything further about the code, where to enhance or even your own results from memory/sql profiling. Charles (from core) and I will be doing refactoring in the point release that will come this year at some point that can also be used to address any verified issues.

The reason we have two thousand+ forums is that the site is a discussion site for investment, predominantly in the stock market.  Australia has over 2000+ listed companies in the stock market, as such we need to have a forum for discussion on each company.  Other sites have done this, but none have a full view page of the forum.

I have tried to have the forum in aggregate view, then created links to each catagory of forums to speed viewing.  However there seems to be a bug when settings are for default viewing in aggregate which doesn't allow access to forums unless a post has been made in it, rendering it almost useless.

This is 4.5.3 recently released?
Thanks..
