OK. Just noticed that the file sizes were different. But that may be due to an FTP copy rather than an unzip.

Please notice that the default cache provider should be

The FILE not the MEMORY   CachingProvider.

Is that for output caching as well as module caching?

This sure does seem like a lot of techie work for a non-techie.  When can we just download a fixed upgrade package??  I've tried everything above, but obviously, I'm doing something wrong.  My web.config has all kinds of mentions of caching.
