I have moved a dnn4.5 installation to a new server and am using a test url until the app is setup. I have added the test url as an alias in the PortalAlias table, however when browse to that test url - i'm redirect back to the real url which is obviously on another server. how can i get dnn to keep the url that i've entered in my browser?

thanks
Sean

Make sure you entered the portal alias correctly.

ah, 'enter it correctly'. How silly of me. I never would've thought of doing that.

Hi Sean,

I have the exact same problem. I have developed a dnn website which runs on localhost on my laptop. Now I wanted to transfer this website to our testserver. So I added the domain of this site to the portal aliases(tests.qdelft.nl\hannuke) . But now when I browse to the new domain I get redirected to the localhost url, which ofcourse is wrong.

I suppose there is something I am missing here, so if somebody could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.
