Does anyone have the gallery working, or does everyone suffer from the "A critical error has occurred." bug?

I do have the Gallery working on my sites.

I removed the businesscontrollerclass data from the Gallery record in the DesktopModules table as spoken of in this thread

I modified the maintenance.ascx page to replace all references of Gallery_HeaderText with just HeaderText as spoken of in this thread

I downloaded the dll to fix the paging issue. Found at

I set the security on the folder to allow Network Service full control of the DNN folder and all folders beneath it.

And finally, I renamed the original .resources files in the Portals/?portalID?/Gallery to .oldresources and let the module recreate those files. If you have lots of pictures already uploaded then this option might not work for you. You can let the system recreate the files and then copy your data into the file after comparing the files to make sure there is no corruption.

I may have done other things, but I do not remember. If I remember I will edit this post.

Anyway, I hope this helps. I have spent a lot of time trying to get this module working on my own server so that I can role it out to my family. The module has been functioning now for a whole day. I hope it continues.

Thanks for the insight to help others.

Just to let all of you know, I am focusing on this module alone starting next week.  I mentioned this in another thread, but wanted to make sure all of you who posted in here saw this.

Did we ever get an official fix to this problem?

No, not a released one.  I just released forums as of this Monday.  I am finishing the user documentation for it this very moment.  I am moving to gallery now, will have a 'patch' release out in roughly two more weeks.  Please note use of the word roughly.  I am just trying to get lots of the fixes out there to run it in this next version because many of them are already coded.  I am probably sacraficing the next couple of weekends to get this done.  After that release, look for one to follow that will be improving many aspects of the gallery.  If you followed the forums progress, you will see they came along way when they had my full attention like gallery is now going to have.

Thanks for using the module.
