+++ lol, Rick - sorry, but it looks like you don't understand all the DNN eco system. +++

My interest in the DNN eco system in this context is rather minor, though I did write about it in a recent article of Softletter; however, it's good that I now know you're a minor cog in a big machine.  I'll therefore ignore the implied threat about "hijacking" a thread.

I'm interested in finding out if someone out there has developed a util, plugin, or bullet proof script that overcomes a design that "soft deletes" a record. Of course, the system doesn't really DO that. What it does seem to do is throw records into the Phantom Zone.  Via DNN, you can't recall the record, you can't hard delete it, but enough of it hangs around to prevent an E-mail address from ever again being used! This is simply bad design.

To overcome this, I'm having an Access interface built into the system so that individual records can be inspected and managed properly. This is a ridiculous approach, but it seems the best we can do until DNN is rearchitected  to manage records in a logical manner. And, obviously, we'll need to develop a script to automate things like purging Phantom Zone records and perhaps backing them up for later retrieval (something DBMS programmers have been doing since Vulcan/dBase II and the "pack" command, which dealt with an ACTUAL "soft delete").

Oddly enough, you have confirmed what I said. Why you felt it necessary to then start sabre rattling is beyond me.

But unless you have a technical resource or answer to my question, I'm not really interested in talking with you further. If you HAVE information on a util/plugin/script (a very well tested one) that solves the problem I and a great many other people must deal with, I'm all ears.

sure I would have a script, but after these continuous impertinence, I don't have any interest to share it with you, sorry.

That's so childish, unprofessional, and immature you should just be ashamed of yourself.

Now, please be a good fellow and just go away. I'm interested in talking with people who can help solve a problem, not your temper tantrums. But if your script is bullet proofed and battle hardened, I suggest you suck it up and release it to the DNN community as it's needed.
