Does anyone know of a method of creating and event programatically from code outside the Events module? For instance, is there a REST API?

I have several calendars which I scrape and would like to add the events to a single calendar. I have the scraping working but have not found out how to add to my DNN Events.

There is no documented API, sorry.
You could have a look into the source of Events, the stucture is completely in line with a normal DNN module.

The essence of creating events via code (and there is no API in the module currently), is to create an EventsRecurMaster, and then an Events record. The db referential integrrity will force you to add values wherever needed. If you create an event on a black database, that should show you the structure of the attributes that need adding.

Hey Roger, I am not used to DNN modules and their databases. Where can I find this data? I need to hook in events from a different database, just not familiar enough with DNN to know where it's at. Thanks! El Smurfa Diablo

It will all be in the SQL Server database that underpins your site. That will be dependant on your service provider. You can find the name and location of your database by looking at the connection strings stored in your web.config file.

Cheers
