I am using 02.01.36 for this customer on DNN 5.5 - I think your explination will best explain why the email was sent. The gateway they use is something I must find out. I guess what will make them scratch their head is why they never got this message before. None the less your explination makes sense... let me respond to the client and see what they have to say.

Thanks - I will get back to you. Look forward to the next release!

Alright... I have explained to the client that the way the module is operating is correct. For some reason those emails were not going throguh before. To recap/confirm:
  1. The Awaiting Payment email can be changed to say whatever we would like to the customer, correct? If so, how is this changed?
  2. Obviosuly the client gets a copy of these emails... so does the user fo the site... can it be turned off for just the user? Or is this part of a possible new feature set?

Thanks for your help and insight.

Hi,

May be emails was not sent simply because a misconfiguration of the SMTP site settings?
  1. Under DNN 5.5, login as Host or Admin and go to Admin > Language
    1. In the "Static Resources" column to the right, click on the pencil under "Site" if you want to change resources for he corresponding portal only. If you want to change Store resources for all portal click on the pencil under "System".
    2. In the left column "Resources", expand: Local Resources > DesktopModules > Store > Providers > GatewayProviders > Here select the used provider (AuthorizeNetProvider, EmailProvider, PayPalProvider) > App_LocalResources > ProviderNamePayment.asx.
    3. Now you can change all the text from the selected control. In some resources, you will found one or more "{n}" (where n is a number), NEVER delete those values!!! They are used to insert some values at runtime. As a sample, in the resource AboutChange.Text you can read: ...please feel free to contact us at {0}, or ... {0} will be replaced by the Store email defined in the Store settings.
  2. Each email are sent to the customer AND to the Store admin. This allow to be informed on each order steps! Unfortunately this can't be turned off.

Please give me the more detailled suggestions possible if you need some enhancements in a future version. If those suggestions could be usefull for all or a large number of Store users, I will add them.

Gilles

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Ok... lots of info... maybe too much for me... I am a begginer. Is there a way to change the text in that email? That will work for now if I can just alter what the client is being told that makes a purchase.

Hi,

Yes you can change the email text by following my advices in the point 1. This is how DNN works to allow localization of resources and by the same way you can change every each text in the module (if the module follow localization rules).
