I originally setup a portal for a client at dnn.foo.org. Then the decided on foo.org/dnn. So I deleted the portal and created a new one.

Unfortunately I was able to add a portal admin with the same name as the previous portal admin. Now it's all hosed up.

I can't login with the Poral Admin account. With the super user account, I can't edit/remove the corrupted Portal Admin account. And if I create a new Portal Admin via the Super User Account, I can't change the Portal Admin to the new account. (The corrupted portal account is the only one showing in the drop down list.)

What is the best way out of this mess? (Delete DNN and reinstall is not an option.)

Just an update - I have the client/host logging in via the host account. But the host account does not appear in the admin users list.

Is there any documentation on the table relationships and stored procedures used to admin users? Everything I've been able to glean from other people's posts says that the missing user account should be visible to the Super User Account.

I'm missing something simple.

how did you do the delete - via the UI (i.e. host->portals)? If this is the case then the portal would delete as would all elements of it - however, users would be soft-deleted i.e. have their IsDeleted flag set to preserve an audit trail. As such a new user with the same username cannot be created. If you have done this via direct databae updates I could see the problem, i'd advise you to backup your database and consider deleting the user from the user's table -the referential integrity will take care of the rest. When you create your new portal use a different administrator username

Ok - maybe I'm looking at this all wrong. When I'm logged in as Super Admin, should I be able to see all user accounts? What about as the default Host Account? Or is the default host account equivalent to the Portal "Admin".

Can I see user accounts assigned to a specific portal only when I'm logged in as that Portal Admin?

What about managing those Portal user Accounts? I need to be logged in as the Portal Admin?

when you're host you can see all accounts, unless you've selected a portal (e.g. host->portals) in which case youll see the portal filtered view. The "host" account (and all other superuser accounts if you create any) are automatically admins on all websites. You can manager a portals accounts either via the host or portal admin account for that portal
