I have just started building my first dnn site. When I checked the date and time it was formatted as if in the USA , as I am in the UK I wanted to change the date format and time zone. I change the timezone in the host control panel but it did not change the date and time recorded on my site, still US time and date format. I them downloaded and installed the UK language  pack. The Date format is as I want UK format but still the time zone is about 8 hours out when I use the announcements module. Where is my site picking up the time from?
Thanks for any help on this.
Malcolm

You noted you updated the timezone under the host settings, your site is effected by the timezone settings of your site (under Site Settings).

To update the timezone for a site:

  1. Login as Admin or Host
  2. Go to Admin > Site Settings
  3. Expand Advanced Settings
  4. Expand Other Settings
  5. There you will see the Timezone dropsown list
  6. Select your Zone
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Update
Let me know if you are still having issues after making this change.

Thanks for the reply. I have carried out the instruction as posted but still showing US time -8 hours from GMT. I tried changing it to another zone and them back but still did not work.

After some testing on my local machine I have found that the time is correct. The time I am picking up on the live internet site is the web hosts server time. (WinHost) Is there any way I can change this?

due to misnamed methods in DNN core framework, there are a couple of modules, which do not properly handle situations, where portal default time is set other than server time. If you mainly deal with registered users, I'd encourage them to set proper timezone in their profile instead.
