My most recent DNN site is on a Godaddy shared hosting plan as most of my past DNN installs have been. The difference this time is that Godaddy is now using "grid servers" for the shared hosting plans. I have been having all sorts of performance issues. Sometimes it's fast, other times it's REALLY slow.

Would turning on the "Web Farm" option in the DNN installation help? I'm not sure if "grid servers" and "web farm" are the same thing...

Thanks for any suggestions.

Jim

One other question that is probably as important -- is web farm support even available in the community edition of DNN? If not, then can the community edition of DNN be installed on a web farm environment without having issues?

web farms are supported in community edition as well - but only with file based caching. a distributed caching provider is included in paid versions or may be obtained from 3rd party vendors (e.g. PowerDNN or Aricie)

So, I should turn the "web farm" option on since the DNN site is running on a "grid server" hosting account?

does the grid provide you with multiple virtual machines or does it behave like a single machine for your web application?
