Hello,
I recently inherited my company's 3 external websites using DNN 5.01.  Eventually I want to upgrade them to a newer version but that's not going to happen soon.  One our websites was recently redesigned using this version of DNN (why they didn't use the most recent version I have no idea).

Anyway, I'm having a bit of trouble with getting permanent redirects working (or even finding the best way to do it with my version).  I've looked into the Link URL option under Adavnced Settings > Other Settings but that seems to either be a dead end or I'm not understanding it correctly.  It implies we're redirecting a page that's currently on our site to another page.  This seems a little pointless because I'm trying to direct a now non-existant page to a specific page in the new site but this focuses on sites already in our site.  So I tried creating a page at the old path and point it to the new one but with the DNN path structure, It's tough creating a page where existing links from around the internet think it should be.

Here's an example:
OLD LOCATION
www.carlson-airflo.com/product/curved...
NEW LOCATION
www.carlson-airflo.com/entity/tabid/9...

Through DNN, it's seems kinda tough to force a page to get created at www.carlson-airflo.com/product/curved... and then add the permanent redirect through page settings.

And the kicker is, between the three sites, there are over a thousand broken links I've been tasked with redirecting...so in the interest of time, this M.O. will be tough to pull off anyway.

Does this make sense?  Any ideas?

Thank you,
Jeremy

Jeremy,
DNN 5.0.1 is a version known to have a number of issues, some of serious security scope. I STRONGLY suggest upgrading to 5.6.3 or 6.0.1 and would expect numerous of the functional issues being fixed as well.

 Hi Sebatian,
Thanks for the suggestion.  I most certainly want to do an upgrade as soon as possible.  However, with my limited experience with DNN, I don't feel comfortable making the upgrade with the time I have been alotted to work on this site.  Would 5.6.3 or 6.0.1 solve the problem I currently have?
