David,

short answer: yes - you do not have an option (except not upgrading at all).

Can we have the long answer as well?  Or I guess, more precisely, what will happen to those duplicate admin logins in a multi-portal scenerio?

thanks,
-eric

AFAIK this does not concern the DotNetNuke userinfo but the userinfo from asp.Net membership provider, where address and phone number are stored. For multiple users with same username in different portals, this might get set to first found user settings with that name.

I've also now experienced this - I don't mind a once off issue - but I assume this is a fairly common scenario (I have 4 portals and most of them have some of the same users).

Just to confirm - after the upgrade each individual user on different portals will be able to set DIFFERENT data per portal? I might want to store a different address on a different portal with the same username (or it could even be a completely different person - just happened to choose the same username as another user on a portal they know nothing about).
