Frig the error came back today for some reason (grrrr.....!).
Any new knowledge here? This is most odd.

Same problem here upgrading 4.03 to 4.3.3. I tried running that script as host and that seems to have worked although was very hesitant to do that. I'm going to recommend to the rest of my team to hold off upgrading until a official fix is out.

I ran the script, restarted IIS, and I'm good to go :D

Thanks!

I was extremely optimistic after reading reading these posts but unfortunately running the SQL script did not fix my issue. I though do not have the ability to reset iis as it is a hosted site.

I am rather disappointed that this major of an error could go by without being detected. I recommended this application to a client and now I am left looking rather foolish.
