I install DNN to run under IIS in a non-networking XP machine. I got an error because ASPNET account can't access web.config.

How I can grant this ASPNET account the rights to access DNN folder?

Thank you,

d-cpt

If you don't have a "security" tab on the folder when you right click and choose properties you need to go into the folder options and turn off use simple file sharing, I believe, to get access to the security tab and setup permissions for the local aspnet user

I am still not sure what install version I should use , Source Or StarterKit?

You can create custom modules with both correct?

Can you still get source with the StarterKit install?

Error 404: Cannot find file...

I have created a SQL 2005 Express database called DotNetNuke on my Win2003 Server.  I downloaded 4.3.5 (Install) to the same machine.  I realized my first mistake was to not allow for scripts in my IIS configuration because the error message came back saying I was trying to run a script.  I corrected that error and scoured the instructions found in "Professional DotNetNuke: Open Source Web Application Framework for ASP.NET" to find if I made any other errors.

I did not.  However, I now get the Error 404 message.

When I tried to run the website remotely using VWD 2005 Express, I received the following error messages:

Error 1 Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. \\192.168.1.5\c$\WebSites\DotNetNuke\website\admin\Containers\actions.ascx 3
Error 2 Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. \\192.168.1.5\c$\WebSites\DotNetNuke\website\admin\Containers\title.ascx 3

What am I missing?  What do I need to do to make this application install?

A trap I discovered re security on folders, which is not highlighted much, is that you need NTFS and not FAT for the  format of your hard disk, for this tab to appear.
