Roger, can you see the files using ftp. Does the double extension is in the file name there?
Is the site accessible to the public? If it is please direct to the page having the issue/

Hi Yehuda,

Thanks for getting back again. I have tried accessing one of the .docx files via ftp and I don't get the double extension, I can download and open the file ok. Also, if I allow directory browsing in iis and access the file that way it opens up fine.

I have a site running on DNN version 05.06.03 and it doesn't seem to be affected by this issue.

Unfortunatly the site is not acessible to the public as it is still under development.

I can't belive nobody else is experiencing this issue.... Does DNN not support Office 2007 documents?

Try it yourself. Go to the file manager, upload a .docx file then try and click on it from the file manager. Unbelievable....

I just tested it on my production install of DNN (6.2.5) and it works fine. I'm not saying it's directly related to DNN but I wonder if there's something else that's a factor.

Thanks for the input Mark. My DNN install is virtually fresh, the only other thing I have done is to set up some secured folders as I would like some files on the site to be accessible to registered users only. I wonder if this is contributing to the issue.

I know that the way secured folders work in DNN is to rename them, changing the extension to .res, then back to the original extension when serving them up. This may be something to do with why i'm getting double file extensions in firefox. However, the problem still exisits when using a secured and non secured folder...

The only other thing I can think of is my iis MIME types but they all seem to be ok. The MIME types are inherited from the top level in iis and I have other DNN sites in previous versions working ok without this issue.
